How UZO decides you passed: profitability, risk and discipline

A green profit number is only one of three checks. Here is everything our algorithm verifies before it confirms you passed.

The short answer

To pass at UZO you clear three checks, not one: profitability (you reached your profit target), risk (you stayed within your drawdown limits), and discipline (every trade followed our allowed and prohibited rules). All three are assessed algorithmically, and each carries equal weight.

The profit target is the part most traders already understand, and it is the one people tend to focus on. It is one of three, though, not the whole test. UZO looks at how a result was achieved as well as the result itself, so the three pillars below are always checked together. Follow your own plan within the published limits and all three fall into place naturally.

Pillar 1: profitability (reaching your target)

This is the straightforward part. You grow your simulated balance to the profit target set for your product, measured against your starting balance.

Product

Profit target

Structure

One Step

6%

One phase, no time limit, no minimum trading days

Two Step

10% total

6% in phase one, then 4% in phase two, no time limit, no minimum trading days

Because neither One Step nor Two Step carries a time limit or a minimum number of trading days, there is no clock to race and no need to force the number. You trade to your own plan and reach the target when your setups arrive. The Instant family is funded immediately and works a little differently: those accounts have no profit target to clear before funding, with the single exception of Instant 24h, which asks for 3% within a 24 hour window. Your exact target and your live progress are always shown on your dashboard.

Pillar 2: risk (drawdown compliance)

Profit counts when it is earned within your loss limits, which is what keeps every result comparable and fair. Throughout the phase you stay inside two boundaries: your daily drawdown and your maximum drawdown. Both are measured on your equity, which includes the open, floating profit and loss on any position you are holding, not only your closed balance.

Daily drawdown caps how much your equity may fall within a single day, measured from your daily starting point and resetting at 00:00 UTC. Maximum drawdown caps your total loss across the whole phase. For Two Step, the maximum drawdown is an 8% static limit that holds across both phases, so the floor does not move as you progress.

The exact daily and maximum figures depend on your specific product and account size, so we show them to you rather than quote a single number here. They are displayed live on your dashboard in both percentage and currency terms. Treat those figures as the real lines, never an estimate.

Pillar 3: discipline (allowed and prohibited trading)

The third pillar is about how you trade. UZO runs on real, live market prices, so we protect the integrity of that simulation for everyone using it. Strategies that trade the markets are welcome. Strategies that exist only to game the simulation engine are not.

Allowed

Prohibited

Expert Advisors, bots and algorithms on accounts you own

Latency and HFT arbitrage

Custom indicators and your own tooling

Tick scalping and tick exploitation

Copy trading between accounts you personally own

Copy trading between different people, and identical copied settings

News trading, and overnight and weekend positions

Anything designed to exploit the simulation

Automation is genuinely welcome. Expert Advisors, bots and copy trading are permitted, provided each account runs its own unique, distinctive settings and every account belongs to you. What is not allowed is copy trading between different people or running identical copied configurations across accounts, since that is account management rather than your own trading.

Whether you trade forex, metals, indices, shares, energies or crypto, across more than 1,300 instruments at up to 1:100 leverage, the principle is the same: trade the market, not the platform. An edge built on prices, structure or timing is yours to keep. An edge built on exploiting latency or synthetic tick behaviour is not one we can fund, because it would not survive in a live market and it distorts the simulation for everyone else.

The Best Day Rule and the Best Trade Rule

On One Step, Two Step, Instant and Instant Pro, a soft Best Day Rule applies before a reward is released. No single trading day may account for more than 20% of your total net profit in the current reward segment, meaning the profit earned since your last reward. This never breaches or fails your account. It simply holds the reward until your profit is a little more evenly distributed, and the segment resets after every approved reward, so a strong day from an earlier segment never counts against you again.

We keep this rule soft on purpose. It never voids an account and it never costs you the profit you earned. It only asks that a result is not carried almost entirely by one outsized day before the reward goes out. Trade in rules across the segment and it rarely comes into play at all.

Instant 24h uses the equivalent Best Trade Rule: no single trade may exceed 15% of your total net profit for the session. Because Instant 24h runs as one continuous 24 hour session rather than an ongoing account, the mechanic is a little different. If a trade exceeds that share, the session still runs its full course and the account closes at the end of the 24 hour window in the usual way, and no reward is generated for that session. Every threshold is published in advance, so you can size each trade with the rule in view.

Why the profit target alone does not confirm a pass

Because the three pillars are always checked together, an account can finish above target and still not confirm as a pass. In practice that means one of the following happened:

  • The target was reached, but daily or maximum drawdown was breached at some point during the phase.

  • The target was reached using a prohibited strategy, such as tick scalping or latency arbitrage.

  • The profit was real, but the way it was generated broke the trading rules.

The rules are clear, published in full, and the same for everyone. Reaching your target within the risk limits and within the rules is the whole of it, and every one of those rules is laid out for you before you begin. There are no hidden conditions to discover along the way.

What the algorithm reviews before confirming a pass

When your account reaches its target, our system runs an automated review across the full trade history of the phase before confirming the result. In plain terms, it checks:

  1. Whether the profit target was genuinely met against your starting balance.

  2. Whether daily drawdown and maximum drawdown stayed within limits on every day of the phase.

  3. Whether any minimum trading requirement was satisfied. Instant asks for 5 trading days, Instant Pro for 6, and Instant 24h for at least 7 trades within its 24 hour window. One Step and Two Step have no minimum.

  4. Whether every trade complied with the allowed and prohibited rules.

If all four hold, your pass is confirmed and you move to the next stage.

Identity verification: you, and only you

Once you pass, identity verification (KYC) follows, completed by you, in your own name, before your funded account is activated. You must be the person shown on your identity documents, and the same person throughout the process. You cannot use anyone else's documents, and this is handled by our identity-verification partner.

The name on your verified identity is also the name your rewards are paid to. Rewards go only to a bank account or crypto wallet held in your own name. We do not pay third parties, accounts in a different name, or another person's wallet. Should a name not match, the reward simply waits until it is corrected, and nothing is lost.

The payoff

Pass cleanly and you keep 90% of your trading profit, with UZO retaining 10%. That 90/10 split is the same on every product, One Step, Two Step, Instant, Instant Pro and Instant 24h, and at every account size, so you always know exactly where you stand. It is one of the most generous shares available anywhere. On One Step and Two Step, your evaluation fee is returned to you in full with your third reward. The Instant products are funded immediately and do not include an evaluation fee refund.
