Is there a catch with UZO Challenges? The honest answer

No hidden catch. Real trade-offs, stated plainly, in one place.

The short answer

The honest answer is straightforward. The Challenge is demanding, the drawdown parameters are firm and passing cannot be guaranteed. We would rather you understood that before you commit than discovered it afterwards. The fee, objectives and applicable limits are set out before you begin, so you can decide whether the Challenge genuinely suits the way you trade.

UZO is a simulated, or Syn-Fi, prop firm. You trade against live market prices using simulated capital. The evaluation is genuine, the parameters are firm and the rewards you earn are real. What is not exposed to the market is your personal capital. Here is the honest answer, stated as clearly as we would want to hear it ourselves.

How to approach the evaluation

The targets are published in full and are the same for every trader. They reward steady discipline over a few sessions rather than a single lucky trade, and every limit is shown before you buy and again on your dashboard.

What this means practically: treat the fee as the cost of a serious test, size your risk so a normal losing day does not end your account, and give yourself enough trading days to trade well rather than fast. The traders who pass tend to be the ones who respect the limits from day one.

Real drawdown limits and prohibited conduct

Every product has hard limits. Breach one and the account ends, the same way it would at a desk trading real size. The limits differ by product, so check the exact numbers on your dashboard and on the product page before you buy. As a guide:

Product

Daily drawdown

Trailing max drawdown

Single-trade loss

Instant

3%

5%

2%

Instant 24h

2%

3%

1%

The One Step and Two Step evaluations also carry drawdown limits. The Two Step uses an 8% static maximum drawdown that never moves, and the per-day figures are shown live on your dashboard and the product page, so always read the version that applies to your account rather than a number from memory. Daily drawdown resets at 00:00 UTC.

A short list of tactics will breach an account because they game the simulation rather than trade it:

  • Latency or HFT arbitrage

  • Tick-exploit and tick-scalping

  • Anything else designed to exploit the simulation rather than the market

Everything a real trader expects is welcome: expert advisors and bots, custom indicators, copy trading from your own account, news trading, and holding overnight or over the weekend. There is one soft rule on how your profit is spread. On One Step, Two Step, Instant and Instant Pro the Best Day Rule applies: no single trading day may account for more than 20% of your total net profit in the current reward segment, meaning the profit earned since your last reward. On Instant 24h the Best Trade Rule applies instead: no single trade may exceed 15%. Exactly 20% (or 15%) is allowed, only above that is held. On One Step, Two Step, Instant and Instant Pro the rule never breaches your account, it only delays a withdrawal until your profit is more evenly spread, and then the withdrawal proceeds. On Instant 24h, breaking the 15% Best Trade Rule means the account runs to the end of its 24 hour window and closes with no reward generated.

Fees, refunds, and KYC timing

There is an evaluation fee up front, and we are clear about it on every product. On the One Step and Two Step challenges there is an upside people miss: 100% of that fee comes back to you with your third reward. This refund applies to One Step and Two Step only, not to Instant, Instant Pro or Instant 24h.

On identity: you do not need to verify anything to start. KYC runs through our identity-verification partner only after you pass, before your first reward, so it never stands between you and beginning the evaluation. 95% of rewards are approved in 2 to 3 hours and paid in about 12 hours, by bank transfer or crypto.

The deal in one line

Your profit split depends on the product: you keep 90% on One Step, Two Step and Instant Pro, 80% on Instant, and 99% on Instant 24h, fixed across every account size. On One Step and Two Step, pass and your evaluation fee comes back in full with your third reward.

Why the honesty itself is the point

The honest answer to "what is the catch" is that the rules are firm and every one of them is published in full. We would rather you read them before you pay than discover them afterward. Platforms that move their limits quietly or bury fee terms create the very catch we are trying to avoid.
