My KYC verification was rejected or is stuck

Why identity checks are declined, how to retry successfully, and how to clear verification before your account goes live.

Short answer

Nearly every rejected or stuck verification comes down to an unclear document photo, not a problem with you or your account. Run the verification flow again with a sharp, well-lit photo of a valid government ID, and make sure the name and details match those on your UZO account. Should it still not clear after a couple of clean attempts, write to [email protected] and we will sort it out.

Identity verification (KYC) confirms that your account genuinely belongs to you. It is a one-time step, it is quick when the photos are clean, and almost every stuck case clears on a careful retry. Here is exactly what to check.

When KYC happens

Verification is completed once, before your account goes live, and it never has to be repeated. It is handled through our identity-verification partner, and it takes only a few minutes when your document is clear. The exact moment depends on the product you chose:

  • One Step and Two Step: you complete KYC immediately after you pass the evaluation, before your funded account is activated.

  • Instant, Instant Pro and Instant 24h: you complete KYC immediately after purchase, before the account is activated.

You are asked to photograph a government ID and, in most cases, to take a short selfie so that we can confirm the document belongs to you. Once it is done, it stays done, and later rewards are never slowed by repeating it.

Why verifications get declined

The most common reasons a check is declined are practical, not personal. In order of how often we see them:

  • A blurry, cropped, or partially cut-off document photo

  • Glare or reflection covering part of the ID

  • An expired identity document

  • A name or detail that does not match the name on your UZO account

  • An unsupported document type

The name must match

You must be the person shown on your own documents throughout verification, and the identity on your document has to match the identity on your account. This matters because your reward is paid only to a bank account or crypto wallet held in your own name, matching your verified identity. We do not pay third parties, company accounts in a different name, or another person's wallet.

If you registered under a nickname, a maiden name, or a different spelling, that is usually the thing to correct. A name mismatch simply holds the reward until the records are aligned, and nothing is lost in the meantime.

How to retry successfully

In nearly every case you may simply run the verification flow again. To give the retry the best chance of clearing on the first pass:

  1. Use a valid, unexpired government-issued ID (passport, national ID, or driving licence).

  2. Photograph it on a flat, dark surface in even light, with no flash glare.

  3. Keep all four corners of the document inside the frame, with the text sharp and readable.

  4. Confirm the name and date of birth on the document match your UZO account exactly.

  5. For the selfie step, use good lighting, remove glasses or hats, and hold the camera steady.

Should the document genuinely not match your account details, there is no need to keep resubmitting. Contact support so we can align the records before you try again.

Why this step exists

Verification protects your reward. Confirming that the account and the reward belong to the same real person is what keeps rewards secure and lets us release them with confidence. That is why every account is verified before it goes live, and why we hold to it consistently for everyone.

Because it is completed once at the start, it never stands between you and a reward later. When your first reward is due, the identity check is already behind you.

Once you clear it

With verification complete, rewards move quickly: 95% are approved within 2 to 3 hours and paid in about 12 hours, by bank transfer or crypto. Should you be on One Step or Two Step, your evaluation fee is returned in full with your third reward.

When to contact support

If verification keeps failing after two or three clean, well-lit retries with a supported document, write to [email protected] and describe what is happening.

For the fastest fix, include the email on your UZO account, the type of document you are using, the exact error or screen you are shown, and roughly when you tried. That lets us check the record and unblock you in one reply rather than several.
