How the One Step challenge works on perpetuals

One phase and a 6% target on perpetuals, then a funded account with a 90% reward share. Every rule, with worked examples.

The short answer

One Step on perpetuals is a single-phase evaluation. Grow your simulated balance by 6% whilst staying inside the risk limits, and you pass. There is no time limit, no minimum number of trading days and no second phase.

Once funded, you keep 90% of your profit. You trade more than 120 perpetual markets on the Trust terminal, open 24/7, with the same rules as One Step on a Markets account.

Like every UZO account, it is simulated: you trade a simulated balance against real, live prices from Hyperliquid, and your rewards are real. New to perpetuals? Start with What are UZO Perpetuals?.

The profit target

There is one target: 6% profit on your starting balance. On a $10,000 account that is $600 of net simulated gain. Reach it without breaching a limit and the challenge is complete.

No time limit, no minimum days

There is no time limit and no minimum number of trading days. Pass in a day or over several months, provided the account stays active (see Inactivity below).

The risk limits

Three limits protect the account. Breaking any one of them ends the account.

Rule

Limit

What it means

Daily drawdown

3%

The most your equity may fall within one day. It resets at 00:00 UTC.

Maximum drawdown

6% trailing

Your overall floor. It trails your equity upward, then locks at your starting balance.

Single-trade loss

3%

No single trade may lose more than 3% of your account size, on the challenge and the funded account.

  • Daily drawdown: at 00:00 UTC, the higher of your equity and balance becomes the day's reference, and your equity may not fall more than 3% below it. If the day opens at $10,000, that day's floor is $9,700.

  • Maximum drawdown: on a $10,000 account the floor starts at $9,400 and trails $600 beneath your highest equity. Once your equity reaches $10,600, the floor has risen to $10,000, your starting balance, and it stays there.

  • Single-trade loss: on a $10,000 account, no single position may lose more than $300.

All three are measured on your equity, so the floating profit or loss of open positions counts in real time. On perpetuals, funding payments and trading fees move your equity too, so they count as well.

What is different on perpetuals

Markets open 24/7. There is no weekend close, but the daily drawdown still resets at 00:00 UTC, in the middle of a live market. See Markets that never close: trading perpetuals 24/7.

Leverage is set per market. From 2x to 25x depending on the market, with 10x on BTC, ETH and SOL, rather than 1:100. See Leverage and margin on perpetuals.

Funding and fees count. Funding settles every hour and trading fees apply to every fill, and both move your equity. See Funding rates, explained and Fees and how your order fills.

Sizes go to $400K. Perpetuals accounts run from $5K to $400K.

Your funded account and rewards

Once you pass, your funded account runs on the same limits as above. You keep 90% of the profit you make and UZO keeps 10%.

  • You need at least 1% in closed profit before your first reward request, measured on your original account size.

  • The 20% Best Day Rule applies: no single day may account for more than 20% of the profit in a reward request. It never ends the account, it only holds a request until the profit is spread more evenly.

  • All positions must be closed when you request, and your identity must be verified.

Inactivity

An account with no trading for 35 consecutive days is closed for inactivity. Place a trade within each 35-day window and the clock starts again.

The usual UZO rules apply

Perpetuals accounts sit under the same trading rules as every UZO account, including the framework on prohibited strategies. Read What trading strategies are prohibited at UZO? before your first trade.

Where to go next

The One Step walkthrough for Markets accounts covers the same rules in more depth: How the One Step challenge works. For all three perpetuals accounts side by side, read Perpetuals accounts: the complete rules.
